PUADEFCM109B
Supervise platoon level defensive operations

Assessment tool

Version 1.0
Issue Date: May 2024

The application of this unit in the workplace - the environments, complexities and situations involved - will be written during Phase II of the Review of the PUA00 Public Safety Training Package.

This text will be useful for the purposes of job descriptions, recruitment advice or job analysis; where possible, it will not be too job specific to allow other industries to import it into other Training Packages, where feasible.

This unit covers the competency required to administer, lead and command groups of between 15 and 35 personnel in circumstances that may be high-risk, and under extreme environmental conditions.

It is primarily focused on the duties of a platoon second in command who, while mainly employed to administer the group, may be required to supervise group members in a dynamic environment, often acting independently and leading by example.

Defensive operations are characterised by own forces delaying, accepting decisive engagement or withdrawing from action against hostile forces.

Command is the authority a commander in the military service lawfully exercises over subordinates by virtue of rank or assignment.

You may want to include more information here about the target group and the purpose of the assessments (eg formative, summative, recognition)
